The privacy protection authorities for Canada, Québec, British Columbia and Alberta will hold a news conference at 11 am MDT today, September 23, 2025, to discuss the findings of an investigation into popular online video-sharing platform TikTok.
The joint investigation had a particular focus on TikTok’s privacy practices as they relate to younger users, including whether the company obtained valid and meaningful consent from these users for the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information.
At the start of the news conference, the investigation’s Report of Findings will be posted on the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada website and on the website of the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
