External Adjudication Orders

Section 75 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and section 96 of the Health Information Act allow for an external adjudicator to be appointed to rule in place of the Commissioner.

The External Adjudicator ordered Alberta Justice to disclose some of the 68,822 records related to a defamation lawsuit.

March 13, 2003

The External Adjudicator confirmed that Alberta Justice was required to refuse access to the records under section 27(2) of FOIP and authorized to refuse access under section 27(1)(a).

May 24, 2002

The External Adjudicator ordered Alberta Justice to reduce fees from $59,571 to $2,500 for one applicant and from $60,696 to $500 for another applicant.
