External Adjudication Orders
Section 75 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and section 96 of the Health Information Act allow for an external adjudicator to be appointed to rule in place of the Commissioner.

External Adjudicator Order No. 12 | January 5, 2021 | The OIPC was ordered to make contact information on independent contractors and consultants available to the applicant. Before releasing the information the OIPC was directed to first inform the affected third parties of the request for their information in order for them to be heard. |

External Adjudication Order No. 8 | April 14, 2015 | The applicant's request for review on decision by Alberta Corporate Human Resources and Alberta Justice was found to not warrant an inquiry. |
External Adjudication Order No. 7 | August 12, 2009 | The External Adjudicator concluded that the Commissioner did not act improperly in a matter involving Tesco Corporation. |

External Adjudication Order No. 5 | August 6, 2004 | The External Adjudicator confirmed all but one of the decisions of Grant MacEwan College with regard to information the college provided in access requests. |
External Adjudication Order No. 4 | October 3, 2003 | The External Adjudicator ordered Alberta Justice to disclose some of the 68,822 records related to a defamation lawsuit. |
External Adjudication Order No. 3 | March 13, 2003 | The External Adjudicator confirmed that Alberta Justice was required to refuse access to the records under section 27(2) of FOIP and authorized to refuse access under section 27(1)(a). |
External Adjudication Order No. 2 | May 24, 2002 | The External Adjudicator ordered Alberta Justice to reduce fees from $59,571 to $2,500 for one applicant and from $60,500 for one applicant and from $60,696 to $500 for another applicant. |
