Commissioner Frank Work today released an investigation report by his Office commenting on an employee CV inventory project being developed at Alberta Research Council (“ARC”) Inc. The project produces an internal-use computer application to hold the background education and experience of several hundred employees at the corporation. The report finds that, given the distinctive nature of ARC Inc.’s work in formulating and marketing research proposals based on staff expertise and availability, the proposed system complies with the collection, use and disclosure requirements of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
